Ron was born in West Point, Nebraska and raised on a farm north of Howells, Nebraska. He graduated from Howells High School in 1970 and then continued his education at Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1974.
Ron started in the life insurance business in 1975 and eventually joined E.F. Hutton in 1981 as an assistant vice president. In 1984, he earned his Certified Financial Planner designation and joined Financial Network Investment Corporation as a branch manager. His firm, Bazata Wealth Management Group, a financial planning business, is located in Kearney, Nebraska. Ron is also a registered investment advisor and has advised many individuals and families to help them achieve their lifetime financial goals. He served as president of the Central Nebraska Life Underwriters from 1980-1981.
Ron joined the Kearney Noon Rotary Club in 1982 and served as club president from 1986-1987. During his presidency, the club raised funds to build the Rotary Nature Barn along with many other successful fund drives. He has served on the board and was chairman for twelve years of the “Travelogue” series, which has been the biggest fundraiser for the club. Ron was named Rotarian of the Year in his home club and is also designated as a multiple Paul Harris and is a Benefactor and a member of the Bequest Society.
Ron and his wife, Mindy, have been married for 31 years and have three children: Sally Webster, who lives in Ripon, Wisconsin with her husband Wayne; Scott who lives in Kearney with his wife Kiley and is a business partner in Bazata Wealth Management; Rick who lives in Kearney and works for InterMotion Manufacturing as a mechanical engineer/physicist.
Ron is an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman and was a high school and college football and basketball official in Nebraska for many years.
