Jerry grew up on a ranch near Imperial, NE. He graduated from Chase County High School in 1972 and received a B.A. degree at Chadron State College in 1976. He also received a Juris Doctorate Degree from Creighton Law School in 1979. Jerry has practiced law in the Grand Island Area; currently specializing in workers’ compensation, personal injury and bankruptcy. Jerry is currently a member of the Nebraska State and the American Bar Associations.

Throughout his career, Jerry has been involved in a number of organizations serving as president of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters, (formerly Big Brothers) in 1982, past president of the Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce in 1995, past president of Leadership Tomorrow in 1988 and is currently serving a second term with the Central Platte Natural Resource District.􀀎 Jerry joined the Grand Island Noon Rotary Club in 2001 and he was past president in 2010.

Jerry and his wife, Susan, have three children: Justin, who recently received a doctorate degree in engineering and currently living in Washington, D.C., a son, Rhett, who will be a sophomore at Grand Island Senior High and a daughter, Molly who is attending Barr Middle School.

Jerry is currently a volunteer for the Boy Scouts and enjoys camping and fishing with his children and when he has any free time, he spends it golfing.
