This is a busy time for Rotary Youth Exchange:
- Our current hosted students are making plans to return home in the next month or two.
- Our current Nebraska exchange students who are studying abroad are anxious to return home to their families and friends.
- Our 2016-2017 outbound exchange students are getting ready for their exciting adventures and making plans for departure in late July/early August.
- Host Clubs in Alliance, Curtis, Hastings, Kearney, Minden and O’Neill are readying themselves for their students’ arrivals August 7-10. Orientations for host families, club YEO’s and counselors are scheduled for July.
- We are also in the recruiting phase for applications from District 5630 students who want to study abroad in 2017-2018.
Our 2016 goal was to promote Rotary Youth Exchange Scholarships (valued at $13,000 – $31,000). We’ve had excellent responses from the schools and students. Applications will go online in August/September.
Now… we need Rotarians and Rotary Clubs to make the commitment to host and sponsor students for the 2017-2018 school year.
We don’t want to turn away students from our district who want to study abroad or exchange partners and students who want to come to Nebraska!
